Background

certain girls... began with a post on Mount Holyoke-based message board about "certain girls... on campus annoy me!" The anonymous rant sparked a conversation about identity and community. This became the germ that seeded the idea of a ensemble-generated piece.

Production Information

Mount Holyoke College's Department of Theatre Arts produced certain girls... in the Spring of 2007. Sophia Skiles directed and coordinated this ensemble-generated piece on identity in copresent communities and virtual communities.

Ensemble members wrote and created movements from Viewpoint exercises. McCormick dramaturged the production, which included doing research on topics, creating presentations on themes, helping with the script generation and archive, and designing the lobby display. Erika Rundle coordinated all dramaturgical efforts.
