Limitations

Multisearch 3.0 is much more flexible than its earlier counterparts. It is currently easy to add restriction algorithms and merge algorithms without knowing Multisearch's code very well.

In 3.0, Multisearch has removed the need for Tomcat. However, on this file system, the .jar files are all stored in $CATALINA_HOME/common/lib. Also, Multisearch has only be tested on Linux machines with Tomcat and not thoroughly tested without Tomcat installed.

The other major limitation of Multisearch is that it is set up only to receive variations on Merge and Restriction algorithms. Any other research would probably need serious code modification.
